Founded in 1954 to meet the needs of the Lewis-McChord military base in Washington state, America’s Credit Union now serves multiple military bases, as well as families and business professionals in the surrounding communities.
We began by submitting a selection of wide-ranging written design concepts. One featured nearby Mount Ranier, a symbol of strength and local pride. Another presented individual words like Respect and Independence from ACU’s “This I believe” video series, etched in stone, metal and wood.
ACU expressed a preference for abstract imagery, and responded strongly to an early design featuring carbon fiber because it evoked both military technology and sophisticated luxury.
Refinements to logo treatments, colors, textures and lighting effects produced 6 luminous cards. Shamlian Creative expanded the series with two “Amplify” business cards and the “Aspire” healthcare financing card.
